John Darragh’s passion for disability law comes partly from what he learned of it in his personal life while witnessing loved ones fight for the benefits they badly needed. He keeps that experience in mind in his approach to his work. John graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2013, where he competed as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. John also worked as a student in Chicago-Kent’s Health and Disability Law clinic, where he assisted with work on SSDI and SSI cases at various stages of the process. Prior to law school, John graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with Departmental Distinction in Psychology.
John has long worked in positions that reflect his passion for social justice. He earned his law degree via evening classes while working full time as a paralegal at a civil rights law firm in Chicago, assisting those whose constitutional rights had been violated. He also worked for several years in social services as a case manager for children and adults in the Chicago area before making the move to legal field.
