How to Apply for Disability in the Western Chicago Suburbs
Applying for disability can feel overwhelming, but understanding how it works makes it easier.
Social Security runs two main programs for people who can’t work because of health problems:
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI):
SSDI is for people who have worked and paid into Social Security through their paychecks. Your eligibility depends on your work history and how recently you’ve worked.
