A Little Nudge to Get a Jab

May 3, 2021

Encouragement from Tom Nash

“We’re all in this together” has been the catchphrase of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is safe to say that we are all together on another point as well: we want to beat this disease, so our lives can return to normal. The absolute best way for this to happen is to get vaccinated.

Please let me add my voice to the chorus of epidemiologists, medical personnel, and public health organizations who are urging all Americans to get vaccinated. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. Millions of people in the United States have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history. At the time this article was written, more than 150 million doses of the three authorized COVID-19 vaccines have been administered and only .005% have resulted in a serious side effect. Most of those vaccinated have experienced no side effects at all. Some have felt under the weather the day after vaccination. But a day or two of minor side effects is nothing compared to the risk of getting COVID-19 and experiencing serious and sometimes long-term respiratory symptoms, or even death.

To protect yourself and to protect your loved ones, a quick jab with a syringe is all it takes. There are many ways Illinois residents can receive a COVID-19 vaccine. To find the option that is the best way for you, I encourage you to visit one of these websites:
